What You'll Do:

The primary purpose of this position is to assist LGE in living out its service mission, "Dedicated to our member's financial well being." To achieve this goal the employee must provide outstanding service to both internal and external members. Responsible for analyzing data and accurately evaluating credit risk of potential borrower. Prioritization, effective time management and strong organizational skills along with the ability to perform multiple functions are needed for this position.

Essential Functions:

  • Maintain an effective knowledge of LGE's products and services.
  • Analyze financial statements and tax returns including balance sheet, income statement and statements of cash flow.
  • Make recommendations that support long term credit objectives.
  • Prepare documentation and assist commercial lenders in obtaining and analyzing commercial loan applicants.
  • Evaluate credit worthiness of commercial applicants and make recommendations.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with third party vendors to ensure efficient credit analysis operations.
  • Proficient use of data analysis software, Excel, Adobe and Word.
  • Ability to research and analyze financial data on new, renewal and existing business loans, including data provided by credit reporting agencies, public record agencies, and research/analysis on industry studies and reports.
  • Collaborate with management, commercial lenders and third party vendors to assess credit risk of the commercial loan portfolio.
  • Identify and recommend appropriate structuring of commercial credit facilities.
  • Ability to assimilate all data required to complete detailed credit analysis for new requests and annual reviews of existing portfolio and recommend risk grade to management.
  • Responsible for independently underwriting new credit requests and annual review of existing borrowers, analyzing repayment capacity and monitoring borrower compliance with approved terms and recommending risk tolerance to management and financial impact to the CU.
  • Develop, produce and maintain reports for monitoring of commercial credit relationships.
  • Review and analyze the financial condition of businesses and individuals; evaluate the quality and sufficiency of various sources of repayment, collateral and the appropriateness of credit structures for new loan and renewal requests are within established credit risk tolerance.
  • Prepare, deliver and participate in presentation to Management as required.
  • Provide updates to commercial lending on commercial lending trends and activities.
  • Proficient in underwriting various collateral types (including accounts receivable, inventory, and equipment), SBA guaranteed loans and various types of commercial real estate income and owner occupied properties, performing appraisal reviews, and the administration of construction or other disbursement budgets.
  • Act as a control point in the loan approval process to ensure adherence to credit policies, procedures and loan covenants.
  • Prepare and present loan presentations to management providing assessment and adequacy of proposed loan structure, risk rating and credit worthiness, policy exceptions and credit risk tolerance.
  • Review and maintain the quality of the business loan portfolio by ensuring consistency of financial and industry data utilized in the credit analysis and approval process.
  • Prepare and deliver and monitor reports required in the credit administration during the life cycle of business loans.
  • Identify and contribute ideas to improve efficiency and work flow processes.
  • Ensure confidentiality of all lending related matters.
  • Be familiar with and follow all policies, procedures and processes which have been established in order to meet compliance requirements of all applicable federal regulations. The regulations include but are not limited to the Privacy Act, Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC), Bank Secrecy Act (BSA), Reg. CC and Patriot Act.

Who you are:

  • Bachelor Degree in Accounting, Finance or Business Administration or a minimum of 5 years related experience.
  • Self starter with the ability to work independently; multi-task and reprioritize objectives as needed
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both oral and written
